Girl, Interrupted(1999)

Diagnosed with a disorder, Susanna Kaysen is sent to a mental institution, where she enters the skewed world of people who truly belong on the inside. Angelina Jolie won an Oscar for her portrayal of a seductive patient who befriends Kaysen.

Girl, Interrupted is based on a true story and best-selling memoir by the same name published in 1993. I, personally, love this film and don’t think there is a downside to it at all. There’s a good mixture of drama, comedy, highs and lows to keep you on your toes, but it feels real. The cast is fantastic, with Angelina Jolie, Winona Ryder, Brittany Murphy, Angela Bettis, Whoopi Goldberg, Clea DuVall, etc. The runtime is 127 minutes.

I just finished this movie…it’s incredibly how in this movie, I didn’t see Angelina Jolie at all. I only saw her character. I would randomly be reminded, oh, the actress is Angelina Jolie! I love movies where the actor almost dissolves away from who they are into their character…

Day 8- What’s your favorite move?

LET’S SEE (this might be hard b/c I don’t know official names for most of the moves…)
-In Salsa: I don’t know exact names, but there’s this windmill move where I go under the lead’s arm into two spins which is SO MUCH FUN. I also love Copas :D
-In Jitterbug Swing: Washing Machine and this swivel move which is probably more of a jive move than a swing move XD
-Waltz: Serpentine and whisk
-Tango: there’s this promenade that goes into a three rock steps that’s awesome
-Quickstep: SPIN TURN! :D
-Foxtrot: Foxtrot is super hard so we don’t know many moves…but heel turns are fun with strong leaders who know what they’re doing.
-Two Step: Baskets and free turns are fun
-West Coast Swing: I LOVE WHIPS SO MUCH

Music from Studio Ghibli movies are absolutely magical.
I can recall they even played a song from Princess Mononoke when the airplane I was in, landed in Narita, Japan.
